What Knockoff is

Knockoff is brand protection software for Shopify stores. It finds stolen product photos, copycat storefronts and trademark filings on names close to yours across Amazon, Temu, eBay, Etsy, AliExpress, Facebook, Instagram and the open web, then builds the case: the archived listing, the timestamp, the side-by-side and the exact notice. The store owner reviews and approves that notice. Knockoff then reviews the approved package, files it as the store owner's authorized agent on platforms that accept agent filings, and chases the reply. One plan, $799 a month.

Who it is for

Shopify and direct-to-consumer brands that sell their own products and shot their own photos. Connecting a store takes five minutes and the catalog syncs on its own. Shopify is the only storefront platform supported today.

A registered trademark is not required. Product photos are protected by copyright from the moment they are taken, and copyright claims work on every marketplace. A US trademark registration sharpens the trademark watch and strengthens filings.

What it does

• Watches new US trademark applications that are confusingly similar to the brand's marks.
• Assembles an evidence pack for each case: a timestamped screenshot of the live listing, an archived copy of the page, a side-by-side composite, the matched original product, and the recommended claim type.
• Prepares the exact notice for the store owner to review and approve. After approval, Knockoff staff review the package, then sign and submit the notice as the store owner's authorized agent on platforms that accept agent filings. The store owner signs one Letter of Authorization, which can be revoked at any time.
• Where a platform accepts a report only from the rights owner, the store owner gets a link to that platform's own form and files it themselves.
• Tracks what happens next: filed, acknowledged, removed or relisted, with a fresh package when a seller relists.

How it differs from enterprise brand protection

The enterprise vendors in this category mostly do not publish prices. They sell through a demo call and an annual contract, and merchants who have been through that process report quotes in the tens of thousands of dollars a year.

Limitations

• Knockoff is not a law firm and nothing it produces is legal advice.

• Shopify is the only storefront platform that connects today.

• Trademark watching covers US applications.
• Removals are not permanent. Sellers relist, which is why the product watches for the relist rather than closing the case.
